COU-104 - User Auth fails with LegacyEncoding = false in u6.2+

Created by Paul Sterling 02 Dec 2014, 19:44:49 Updated by Shannon Deminick 07 Apr 2017, 05:33:41

Relates to: COU-315

When the usersmembership provider has its attribute for useLegacyEncoding set to false the user auth will fail for Courier as the passwords are unique per instance.

Workaround: Set useLegacyEncoding = true and reset the Courier user(s) password. Note: you will need to rest all user passwords if they were created with useLegacyEncoding = false initially.

Hi @paul,

This is a known issue, and will be fixed when we change Courier to use token based auth instead of the user/password auth we currently have in place.

CLosing this now, token auth is in place http://issues.umbraco.org/issue/COU-315
