= What did you do? =
'''STR 1'''
'''Note that the ''Link to document'' field remains empty.'''
'''STR 2'''
'''Note that the ''Link to document'' field fills in as it should.'''
I checked all of my config files. I rebuilt all of the Examine indexes. Nothing seems to be out of place or incorrectly configured. I have seen this on both an existing project that got updated to v7.6.1 and on a new project that started at v7.6.1.
= What did you expect to happen? =
When following STR 1, the Link to document field should be populated with a link to the media item.
= What actually happened? =
When following STR 1, the Link to document field is not populated with a link to the media item.
I can reproduce this and it's a rather large usability problem.
Just a guess that these issues are related.
This issue was reported by one of our editors today. I quickly spun up a stock Umbraco 7.6.4 instance with Fanoe and can confirm that it is indeed still broken in there.
This issue still remains a problem in 7.7.6. It is more than annoying to say the least, especially for sites of relatively big size. With close to 2000 files, that search functionality would come in handy.
Honestly, if someone could help mentor and collaborate with me a little bit, I'd be glad to throw some time and effort at getting this figured out.
I tried downloading the source and poking around a bit a few months ago, but I'm not worth much when it comes to Angular and I really don't know a whole lot about the architecture of the back office.
