If a start node is set for a user, it is not possible to change it back to the root node via the tree.
The root node can be picked again by choosing the header element in the tree. In newer versions of Umbraco, the header is hidden and the user is therefore not able to pick the root as start node again.
The issue is the same for the start node in the media library.
I became aware that I could "reset" the start node if I clicked "Delete" and saved: [file:Deleting start node.gif]
The user should get some feedback when deleting the defined start node and not a blank space. The blank space could be replaced with a label saying "Content".
