@Shandem I have added the remove avatar button back, so it is now possible to remove a custom uploaded avatar. I do get a YSOD when I try to remove a gravatar. We need to figure out what we want to do here: allow a user to clear the fallback to gravatar and just show the badge with the user name or hide the "Remove photo" button if there is no custom avatar uploaded?

Ah, I never thought about the ability to remove your gravatar entirely, i'll have a look might be possible without much work, otherwise i vote (for now) to just remove the remove photo button if there is no custom avatar

I've pushed a change so you can remove the avatar. So i guess if a user does that then we should disable the remove photo button if there's nothing more to remove. Only issue now is that if you want to get your gravatar back, you'd need to upload a new photo, then remove that photo which will revert to your gravatar. What do you think, is this so important at this stage?

I have updated the PR so we only show the "remove photo" button if the user has any avatars
