Often find myself wanting to know what the alias is for a field when editing content but to do so I have to go to settings and go hunting around. Think it would be good to allow developers to see what the alias is as a tooltip (using the title attribute of the label for the field) when hovering over the field.
Essential? No. Great developer help though? Yep.
@peteduncanson I believe we've had this for quite a while actually... it was added about two years ago:

Included a screenshot from how it works in the backoffice.. was it something else you had in mind? (you can't see my cursor since it refuses to screengrab that for some weird reason .. but I'm hovering the property name)
That does indeed work, good memory! But it only works in debug mode and when live we rarely get to re-enable it when you want to develop a quick feature. I'd rather we changed the check to see if you were logged in as developer or admin or in debug mode?
Would still love this one to be done, bit me again today!
You're welcome to submit a PR to change this to be shown permanent instead of only when in debug mode. I think it's basically just disabling that check and that should be it.
Or, you know.. only show it when you're either admin OR debug=true as Pete suggested ;-)
uDuf Hackathon ftw!
Tested and it all works #h5yr!
