Hello, I was running a training session on Umbraco 7.7.1 and I was in the process of creating a new user (inviting them to to the system). I had accidentally mis-typed someones email address - which I was able to correct by updating the account, but of course the invitation email went out to the wrong email address. It would be good if you could resend the invitation email.
Same issue, only I'd not configured the email settings at the time, so the initial email wasn't ever sent.
Just ran into this issue, we hadn't updated our smtp configuration, hence no invites were actually sent.
A way to resend the invite is needed
My temporary solution to re-send invitations has been to delete the user from the database and then re-add them through Umbraco. Just know that it has to be done in two tables: first the umbracoUser2UserGroup, then umbracoUser.
My workaround for situations like this is to rename the user to something like "User1.NoLongerValid". Makes it apparent that that user is not to be used.
@Knickerbocker I do the same but it makes be cringe having unused users hanging out there
Have created a [https://github.com/umbraco/Umbraco-CMS/pull/2570 PR] to support re-sending the invitations (and also to be able to delete users that haven't yet logged in).
@abutland You're such a hero!
Really hope this gets merged in soon - thanks @abutland
I agree, please merge this in soon. It is a pain without it.
+1 on the need for this, I just entered an email with a typo :(
This really needs to go in 7.11. Thanks for the PR @abutland :D
