U4-10594 - Nested Content + Grid - Field labels empty after Publish event

Created by Laurence Gillian 26 Oct 2017, 08:20:18 Updated by Jesse Andrews 20 Jun 2018, 19:56:27

I am using Nested Content with the Grid Editor, to create a beautiful tabbed content experience.

However, each time I publish, the labels on each Grid item disappear.

This means the content editor has to refresh the page before making additional content updates.

Am I the only person who has put a Grid inside Nested Content?

@Laurence.Gillian You're not the only one. I've ran into this issue as well in umbraco 7.10.3. I don't believe publishing is the cause though, as closing and reopening a nested content tab is enough to create the problem. See https://github.com/umco/umbraco-nested-content/issues/109 for some discussion of this issue. While it is a bit of an edge case most of the time, I've found it useful for controlling tabbed content. Something similar can be achieved by splitting this content off into it's own content nodes, which avoids this issue, but that's not the best approach if the content is only used on a single node.

Refreshing your browser does work as a temporary fix, but eventually the grid needs to be made fully compatible with nested content.
