U4-10679 - Umbraco-Migration not working properly on our QA environment because of which new tables are not created in Umbraco-Databsse

Created by Chetan Khule 13 Nov 2017, 15:28:49 Updated by Sebastiaan Janssen 14 Nov 2017, 07:15:53

What did we do? We have umbraco version 7.2.8 in web.config on Dev. environment then we updated it to 7.5.8, So all new tables are created properly in Dev. Database. Application worked properly on Dev Environment. Then we changed connection setting to QA Database , so that we can test locally whether new Umbraco tables are created or not on QA Env.? But there we faced exception that database failed to upgrade.

What we expect to happen? It should create tables on QA Environment.

What actually happened? We faced exception that database failed to upgrade.

Please note that you're using free and open source software, if you have a paid for support contract with us then you might be entitled to faster response times, make sure to open a ticket with the support team if you do.

Can you please copy and past the text of the error message, it's unreadable in the Word document.

You need to try this again with at least version 7.6.11 (but it's recommended to go to 7.7.4). There's been quite a few fixes to the migrations that update the database structure and I am assuming your issue is already fixed in 7.6.11.

If you can still reproduce the issue in 7.6.11 then make sure to re-open this issue and copy and paste the error message here.
