When you select a variant you’ll have the option of opening the variant in a Split View. The purpose of the split view is to be able to focus on comparing two different variants of your content at the same time. Where relevant the split view is available for all 3rd party apps but to ensure focus and avoid misunderstandings, the apps will disappear from the Content Bar and change into a Close Split View button in the upper right corner.
Any visible buttons in a split view will perform a global task that applies to all visible variants. Where relevant - for instance for the Publish action - a confirmation dialog with the option of selecting which variants should be affected needs to be shown.
How to review:
I don’t think it makes much sense to do a code review at this stage because the code is written with a “Proof of concept” mindset and the prototype will be used to do some simple user testing to make sure the concept makes sense. A code review will be done when we start to wire this up with the server.
