To make sure the website is SEO/SEM compliant and blind-/ and indexing-bots-friendly, it is necessary that the editor can set an ALT tag ([https://www.w3schools.com/tags/att_img_alt.asp]) for each image.
While the user can set the ALT tag for the image when he chooses the image for the very first time (good), it is not possible to do so when the image is already selected/used. In this case, the user is forced to re-select the image (and if you have a couple of hundreds/thousands of images, that is a very time-consuming task trying to find where the image is located) for the user to be able to specify the ALT tag for that particular image.
It would be great to specify an ALT tag for already selected/used images without forcing the editor to re-select the image.
I tried this in 7.11 in both a grid and rich text editor, selecting an image seems to always ask for an alt text now.
If you can still repro this somehow, please provide steps to reproduce and make sure to specify which grid editor(s) you're trying this on.
@wulser Any idea when the main Umbraco site will be upgraded to 7.11?
@sebastiaan Can you by any chance provide a small recordering of how it's done in 7.11 in rich text editor? Thanks in advance!
@MaxT Click the image button, select an image, you get asked for an alt tag.
Alright, I just understood that your requirement is that the image has to be preselected, I don't know how much sense that makes but we can investigate.
@madsrasmussen Do you have a idea of what the expected result here is and if the feature request as described makes more sense?
