U4-11446 - Numeric Textbox

Created by Rachel 15 Jun 2018, 12:38:24 Updated by Andy Thompson 19 Jun 2018, 21:31:17

The editor experience for numeric text box (Umbraco.Integer) is not consistent across browsers, and is confusing.

In Firefox (43.0.1) it displays the up and down arrows on page load which is perfect. Entering a non numeric value for a mandatory numeric text box causes the interface to display "Value can not be null"

In Chrome (67.0.3396.87) the up and down arrows only display in the text box when it is clicked in. It is not possible to enter a non numeric value.

In Edge (41.16299.402.0) no up and down arrows are displayed. Entering a non numeric value for a mandatory numeric text box causes the interface to display "Value can not be null"

In IE (11.431.16299.0) no up and down arrows are displayed. It is not possible to enter a non numeric value.

This sounds like "expected" behaviour from those browser versions :-(
