Your report will have a greater chance of being addressed if you can give us clear steps to reproduce the issue, please answer the following questions in as much detail as possible:
What did you do? I scheduled an "Unpublish date" for a page that I wanted to continue to be able to edit and update it.
What did you expect to happen? That I would be confirmed in that the page was now scheduled to be unpublished.
What actually happened? The page/save button gives me the impression that it is not published, and will be at a scheduled time, even though I didn't enter a publish time and date.
Tested in version 7.10.4
Just adding what I talked about with Martin here for clarity:
The userstory: I am editing a campaign page for a campaign that ends September 1st. I would like the page to go offline at September 2nd. (to give potential slowpokes an extra chance to get a course at a discount), and then close it, and "hide" the page.
In the meantime, I would like to be able to update the page, correcting errors, smoothening the design a bit etc. But clicking save and schedule doesn't update the page. So I am saving something and not publishing now, if I just click the button.
I would argue, that as long as the active choice of setting a publish date has not been made, then my intention as a user is not to avoid publishing. So I was surprised to see the button change and no updates being published when I encountered it. I know that there is a workaround, but it is the userflow and logic I didn't agree with here.
