U4-2106 - Internet Explorer 10 Error When creating anything in the backend

Created by Michael Falk 12 Apr 2013, 10:57:54 Updated by Michael Falk 13 Apr 2013, 11:26:55

When i create Document Types/Data Types, basically anything, i get this script error:

"Value must be a DOM element or a text node"

It fails here: Sys.UI.DomEvent._ensureDomNode = function Sys$UI$DomEvent$_ensureDomNode(element) { if (element.tagName && (element.tagName.toUpperCase() === "SCRIPT")) return;

var doc = element.ownerDocument || element.document || element;
if ((typeof(element.document) !== 'object') && (element != doc) && (typeof(element.nodeType) !== 'number')) {
    throw Error.argument("element", Sys.Res.argumentDomNode);
}

}

And it is called from: var browserHandler; if (element.addEventListener) { browserHandler = function(e) { return handler.call(element, new Sys.UI.DomEvent(e)); <---- this line } element.addEventListener(eventName, browserHandler, false); } through function Sys$WebForms$PageRequestManager$_onWindowUnload(evt) { this.dispose(); } through: if (this._form) { Sys.UI.DomEvent.removeHandler(this._form, 'submit', this._onFormSubmitHandler);

I'm sorry, but I can't reproduce this at all in IE10. I am not using any special settings just a normal IE10 install. Check your security level and settings for scripts etc in IE10. If you have more information on how to reproduce this we can have another look.

It seems the error goes away when using IISExpress, but it fails with the development server

What is the development server? IIS version? Windows version? Anything else that might be relevant? Does it work in another browser?

Visual Studio 2010 development server, on Windows 7, and yes it works in Firefox
