I just observed this in 6.0.0. it might be fixed in later bug releases, but couldn't find anything, so I thought I'd post.
Sometimes (and I can't precisely say when it happens), but sometimes my masterpages (templates) seem to get corrupted. When I try to save them, it says: "Template not saved. Please make sure you don't have multiple templates with same alias" or sometimes "Template does not exist" or sometimes "Item has already been added. Key in dictionary: 'xxx', key being added: 'xxx'". (x being the alias of the template I'm editing.
If I would open another template and then go back to the conflicted one, it would show that my changes have indeed not been saved. I've found another user on stackoverflow with the same issue. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6596178/problem-when-deleting-template-using-umbraco
To be clear: I don't have multiple templates with the same alias, so I think something in the database got corrupted, where Umbraco thinks there are multiple templates. Deleting the template doesn't work either.
I think I can supply a project which shows the problem, if needed.
There are a lot of known bugs in 6.0.0, so I'd encourage you to upgrade to 6.0.3.
Just to add, I'm closing this for now, if it can be reproduced on the latest released version we can re-open this one.
