U4-2295 - Templates tree doesn't refresh and Master template stays at "None"

I'm having weird problem with 6.1, I cannot put a template as a child in Templates tree.

Inheritance does work, however.

I have template called "MasterTemplate", and if I select that template as master on my "Home" template, this will update ok:

<%@ Master Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/masterpages/MasterTemplate.master" AutoEventWireup="true" %>

also setting an ContentPlaceHolderId makes frontend rendering all right, but in Settings -> Templates that "Home" template will not be set right in a tree under "MasterTemplate", and "Master template" dropdown will stay "None".

I can, however, create child template by right clicking "MasterTemplate" and creating a new template.

It's fresh 6.1 install (IIS 7.5 with SQL Express 2008).

I am still experiencing this problem after upgrading to 6.1.1.

@Gjøran Did you use NuGet to install 6.1.0?

Gjøran Jakobsen 03 Jun 2013, 20:39:18

No, I installed 6.0.5 using WPI, and upgraded immediately to 6.1.0.

like Gjøran, i too am still able to reproduce this error in [Umbraco v6.1.1 (Assembly version: 1.0.4902.15214)]. this was a manual upgrade (aren't they all?) from 6.1.0 by overwriting bins + umbraco files as per the documented umbraco upgrade steps. The files were [UmbracoCms.6.1.1.zip] (2013.06.10) from Codeplex. Original install was also the analog zip for 6.1.0 from Codeplex.

I'm having the same problem in a fresh install of 6.0.6. Installed via webmatrix.

@Hallgrímur There's multiple problems listed in this issue, could you please create a new issue with the details (errors, javascript errors, repro steps, etc.)? Thanks!
