Used Luke to go through the ExternalIndexSet and apparently it is only indexing the first level of nodes within the Media Tree.
I can't reproduce this, am I doing something differently? I have three files with the name "Pro1" in it, on different levels. The search returns all three of them on the correct level.
Are you using a fresh install of 6.1.0? Mine was upgraded from 6.0.6.
Yes, fresh install. Try to compare the Examine configs and update them, that might help.
Add this to your Dashboard.config:
And after an app pool recycle go to the developers section to find the new "Examine management" dashboard. It will allow you to rebuild the index just to make sure. There you can also perform the search as I did above. So no more need to use Luke :-)
Nice! I added that but haven't played with it much.
Updated Examine configs to match exactly with the 6.1.0 install, no luck.
Just noticed that in the Media tree, my Image nodes are being duplicated (same node ID and all). Folder and File node types are fine, though.
@Taros alright, I'm investigating the duplication, not sure what that is all about yet, but might be related. I'll update when I figure that one out!
Did you rebuild the index?
Sounds great! I'll poke around the database and see if I can't find anything of interest.
Yep, rebuilt the index, still no luck.
It looks like on the tree, if I have it expanded, then go to another section (Content), and come back, the node name in the tree multiplies (see screenshot). This is only on Image nodes.
Sorry about that, someone is marking a bunch of issues as fixed (they're now banned).
I'm experiencing a similar issue in 6.1.1. If I use the Rebuild Index option in the Examine Management dashboard, ALL the media items are removed from the Examine index. Initially I thought it was me doing something stupid in my GatheringNodeData event handler, but the issue persists even with the handler disabled. The site started out on 6.1.0-beta-2, upgraded to 6.1.0 final and then to 6.1.1.
Maybe I messed something up when upgrading, although I have checked all the Examine configs files and they are identical. I'll try a fresh install of 6.1.1
Just tested this with a fresh install of Umbraco 6.1.1, and there does appear to be a bug.
I created a media folder, added a file (a PDF), and saved it. Then I hit the 'Rebuild index' button, which removed the media file from the index.
Update: happens in a fresh install of 6.1.0 too, just tried it. Should I raise this as a new issue?
@Ben, yes please raise a new issue with full details of how to replicate. thx!
@Shannon, sure, raised as U4-2344
