For SQL Server installations, it would be great if it were possible to choose Integrated Security instead of a standard flat text username and password. Perhaps a radio button for Integrated or Standard?
As far as web.config is concerned, it would simply change the umbracoDbDSN setting from: .;database=umbraco;user id=user;password=pass
To: .;database=umbraco;Integrated Security=true
In many environments, it's best practice to have a single worker account applied to the relevant App Pool in IIS, and give it permission to all parts it will touch including the file system and database.
This is the way we set up all our web apps, including umbraco installations. Currently I am required to set up temporary SQL Server accounts for the sake of umbraco installation / upgrade, and then revert those settings after installation and manually alter web.config.
