When viewing Document Types it can be vey hard to track down exactly there a property is being created if using inheritance.
For example if I have this structure on my site the inheritance causes all of the child document types to get Property 1.
Doc Type 1 Property 1 Doc Type 2 Doc Type 3 Property 3
The problem is if i have a more complex setup then this and I am looking as a Document type in the system there is no easy way to see all the property types and where they are being inherited from. I don't want to be able to edit a parent property type. But it would be very nice if the Inherited property types were still enumerated on the child document type page with a "Inherited From Doc Type 1" blurb.
If this logic was added then it would also be really nice to be able to sort the property types on the document relative to all the inherited properties, not just the current document properties. Currently if I add property types to a child document type all the properties are just added at the end which might not make since. For instance in this example I would like to be able to specify the properties are displayed in the order or Heading 1, then Sub Heading, then Main Content but I can't.
Doc Type 1 Prop Heading 1 Prop Main Content Doc Type 2 Prop Sub Heading
@sebastiaan could really do with this in v7. Have a lot of inherited properies and its becoming harder to manage the backend. Do you know if this PR was looked at?
This would be really useful - especially with doctype composition in 7.2.
