Trying to use the sort order in Umbraco > Media section i have 2 issues.

When i right click on a media folder and choose sort two of my media items are 0 instead of 0 and 1.

In chrome dev tools i am getting the following errors:

Uncaught TypeError: Object [object Object] has no method 'jQuery' DependencyHandler.axd:458 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'SortDialog' of undefined

When i click on sort and try to sort media items i cannot becuase of the javascript errors above.

Hope this makes sense :)

I'm assuming that this is an upgraded site from an older version. Not sure when we last changed the sort dialog, but I can't reproduce this in 4.11.9 (as I told you please please upgrade due to the security issue in 4.11.7).

  • Clear browser cache
  • Update ClientDependency.config (make the version number 1 higher, even if you've done it before)
  • Recyle app pool
  • Refresh site in your browser
  • If that doesn't work, try a different browser

If that doesn't work it's likely a package that's interfering.

Hi Jan, Did an upgrade. We have no packages on the site, nothing to do with the app pool, browser. Updating client dependency config does not work. Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'SortDialog' of undefined, could you tell me why i am getting this javascript error?. I assume this is something to do with it? Thanks

I'll be happy to take a look if you can send me a dropbox (or something like it) link to your site + database. If you reply here and make the comment only visible to the HQ group then it's not shared with everyone.

Found a solution. Clearing the appdata/temp/dependency and then incrementing the ClientDepency.config by one
