U4-2646 - Tree not loading, could not get root node

Created by Per Ploug 20 Aug 2013, 09:26:16 Updated by Shannon Deminick 11 Feb 2014, 22:25:44

Relates to: U4-2789

Subtask of: U4-2891

Loading the tree works great in version 4 and 6 but Belle gives this error message:

Tree Error:{"errorMsg":"Failed to retreive data for application tree newsletterstudio",

"data":{"Message":"An error has occurred.","ExceptionMessage":"Could not get root node for tree type newsletterstudio_letter",

"ExceptionType":"System.ApplicationException",

Just to inform. This is how I declare the tree:

namespace NewsletterStudio.Umbraco { public class loadNewsletters : BaseTree {

    public loadNewsletters(string application) : base(application)
    {
	   // yada
    }
}

}

In other words - I'm not using the attributes. Is that why we are having problems?

Is you tree registered in the trees.config ? The tree attribute just ensures that it is registered in the trees.config automatically.

Hi!

Hmm.. I'm using the old style with adding the tree using a PackageInstall action. But yes they are there:

Per Ploug 10 Sep 2013, 08:33:44

try adding a space between typename and dll, like so: type="NewsletterStudio.Umbraco.loadSubscriptions, NewsletterStudio"

Shannon Deminick 10 Sep 2013, 08:36:30

If that works then the issue should be fixed in U4-2789 rev: b097f33bc9aa2af78e743e731f1da630b264103b

Should I add that space? This config is generated with the package actions shipped with Umbraco so i guess that a lot of other packages depends on them as well.

If you add the space it will work as a work around for now but the underlying issue is fixed if get the latest source (rev: b097f33bc9aa2af78e743e731f1da630b264103b & 4c5d6b5730b7f46ca5f46aac0398f2ff79221a85)
