U4-2861 - Add dictionary keys for Culture and Hostname dialog

Created by Douglas Robar 16 Sep 2013, 15:07:35 Updated by Shannon Deminick 21 Jun 2017, 07:58:15

Seen in v6.1.5.

Change the logged in User's language (via the Users section) to 'English(UK)'. Now go to a content page and right-click to bring up the Culture and Hostname dialog. The labels are not translated and appear in square brackets instead.

We probably need a en_uk file as well as an en_us one. Does it help to copy Umbraco\Config\lang\en.xml to Umbraco\Config\lang\en_uk.xml ?

Thanks, Sebastiaan, I just looked at the language files and found that there are numerous entries in en.xml that are either not in en_us.xml or are different between the cultures. That's the cause of the problem. Though I didn't check, I suspect they are also missing or wrong in the various translations as well. Perhaps this is a larger 'core' issue than just this dialog? When language file edits are made in one file there should be a way to propagate them through the rest of the languages. At a minimum, the two english files should be in sync.
