U4-2900 - remove explicit declarations in web.config

Created by Shannon Deminick 20 Sep 2013, 03:31:54 Updated by Shannon Deminick 26 Sep 2013, 01:48:19

Subtask of: U4-115

Pretty sure a lot of the web.config doesn't need to be there with .net 4.5 like the big assemblies> list, etc..

  • removes - since we're just shipping with the defaults anyways
  • Removes - we don't need this
  • removes <system.web.extensions> - don't need to have that
  • removes <system.codedom> - don't need that
  • removes <assemblies *> - removes all assemblies since we don't need to have them explicitly defined there.
  • removes <sectionGroup name="system.web.webPages.razor" *
  • removes <<system.web.webPages.razor *

With the changes to the system.web.webPages.razor , there's updates to:

  • /views/web.config
  • adds new /macroscripts/web.config

I'd also look into whether you can drop the system.web.webPages.razor section as Razor is pretty well baked into ASP.Net now
