U4-3012 - Feature request - Add more colours to version 7.0 to lower cognitive load and make call to actions clearer

Created by Anthony 01 Oct 2013, 15:10:23 Updated by Sebastiaan Janssen 24 Feb 2014, 11:51:47

Everything is currently very monochrome, which increases cognitive load.

Some thought needs to be put into adding a lot more colours into the interface.

Despite what is currently trendy (eg. monochrome VS2012), colours matter a whole lot. If colours did not matter, then stop signs would also be black and white.

Closed, as "adding more colour" is not a feature request, its a broad statement. We add colour where we see it being needed, not because of trends.

Feedback is welcome, but based on actual specific cases, where we can actually make substantial changes based on user feedback.

Specifically I think tree icons should be in colour. The new set of icons will make it more difficult to find what you're looking for. The introduction of monochrome icons is one of the main complaints from people in VS2012.
