U4-3023 - Suggestion: Add lists plugin to tinyMceConfig.config

Created by Jan Skovgaard 02 Oct 2013, 09:25:32 Updated by Eric Schrepel 03 Dec 2014, 18:21:09

If the "lists" plugin is not activated it's not possible to make valid nested lists within the rich text editor.

In the config this line should be added to the section

Creating nested lists is currently possible by using the indent buttons with the list buttons. I have successfully been able to create nested UL's, OL's and combined OL's with nested UL's.

Yup, but by enabling the lists plugins it can be done by just using the tab button - It's a simple thing, which causes less frustration among editors imho :)

Fixed in rev a269e9d426b2cc591ab5e615f99767cad99e9e3c from this pull request: https://github.com/umbraco/Umbraco-CMS/pull/171

There's still a tiny bug in lists (even with the lists plugin, and using Umbraco 7.1.8): we want to double-indent bullets 2-3 in a list of four bullets so it'd end up like:

  • bullet 1 o bullet 2 o bullet 3
  • bullet 4 We can mouse-select bullets 2-3 and hit Tab to indent them as a group, but the Indent icon on the toolbar gets grayed out, which confuses our more mouse-centric users. Not sure why that happens; running the same test at the TinyMce3 demo page (http://www.tinymce.com/tryit/3_x/full.php) works as intended.
