U4-3078 - Cached .net macros empty on heavy load

Created by Joao Pinto 09 Oct 2013, 16:31:24 Updated by Shannon Deminick 21 Jun 2017, 07:58:15

Long story short: .net usercontrol macro with cache enabled, sometimes is macro not rendered (completely empty output of the macro) if the website is under heavy load.

This forum thread talks about the same issue on Umbraco 4 http://our.umbraco.org/forum/developers/api-questions/8584-Severe-Issue-with-macro-caching-under-heavy-load?p=0

I'm using Umbraco 6.1.5 and the issue is exactly the same, when experiencing heavy load (testing with LOAD UI is perfect) macros are randomly rendered as empty.

On the forum topic someone suggested to add renderEvent="Render" to the macros, it reduces the chances to get empty output, but doesn't solve the problem.

I tried also with very basic macros that just contain a simple label, I get the same issue, so it's not related to heavy macros.
