U4-312 - 4.1b2 Rename data type after creation does not change the name of the node in the tree

Created by Sebastiaan Janssen 19 Aug 2012, 14:51:08 Updated by Shannon Deminick 21 Jun 2017, 07:52:13

To reproduce:

  • In the developer section, right-click the Data Types folder and choose Create.
  • Enter a name for your new data type, e.g. AATest and click the Create button.
  • Note that the name of the new data type is correctly set to AATest, and also in the Developer tree it is also called AATest.
  • Change the name to BBTest and click Save. Note the "datatype saved" message.
  • Right-click on the Data Types folder and choose Reload Nodes to update the tree.
  • Note that the node is still called AATest in the tree.
  • Click on the AATest node.
  • Note that the name is set to BBTest in the dashboard area.
  • Browse to a document type in the Settings area and add a new property - note that the entry in the list reads AATest and not BBTest.

Desired behaviour:

  • when you change the name of a document type this new name should be used when showing that datatype across the Umbraco admin (developer data types tree, settings document type tree).
