In umbraco 7, there's no direct visible button to Save the page. So I thought I could just change something and press the Preview button to preview my change, but it only opens the preview window without saving.
I think it would be better if the Preview button saves the current changes and then open the preview window.
+1 on this. I was about to report the same issue and think most users would expect preview to show them what's currently in the form fields.
This is NOT how it currently works in v6 though. I suggest renaming the button to Save and preview then.
I know. It's just that the UX/UI has changed so much, people will think the preview button previews the current entered data. I agree with you to call it "Save and preview".
Agree - content users will simply think the Preview doesn't work unless it saves first.
Yep, was about to report this - very confusing when creating a new page that clicking Preview doesn't actually preview it at all.
I've updated the code so that it always saves before preview which of course makes sense. I haven't updated the text that is displayed on the button for 2 reasons:
Happy for feedback if people think the text absolutely requires changing.
