U4-3438 - Missing macro parameter editor - 'contentTree'

Created by Shannon Deminick 07 Nov 2013, 05:09:37 Updated by Simon Ineson 22 May 2014, 14:57:48

Relates to: U4-3428

Some packages like XSLT search require the 'contentTree' macro parameter editor. This editor is the same as the content picker BUT it exposes an xml fragment to the macro, not just the id.

I suspect XSLTsearch might be about the only package that uses the contentTree macro parameter type. I can change the package to use an ID from the regular Content Picker. That would work in all versions of Umbraco and save having to create a custom 'contentTree' equivalent just for macros.

Unless someone else complains about this issue, I recommend it not be implemented.

Hey @Doug! This appears to be the consensus from the HQ as well. That would be super fantastic if you could make the change to the package. Will close this issue.

I was just about to add this and noticed it had been brought up already. My existing site uses the contentTree parameter. I have a Document Type called "News folder" and another Document type called "News Items", the items come under the News folder and I use the contentTree parameter to list the news items within the news folder. On our homepage I also use this to show the latest 5 news articles.

Do you know of another way to do this if it can't be added back into version 7?
