Perhaps should drag with cursor from left to right on login screen be disabled on desktop? If I do a small drag on the background from left to right I get a blank page. The editors might accidentally do this and have to refresh page to see to login screen.
I can replicate this issue because I have a touch enabled screen on my laptop - assuming that is the case for you too ?
As far as I know my laptop (HP model dv6-6018eo) hasn't a touch screen enabled.. but it does seems that some HP dv6 models has a touch enabled screen: http://gizmodo.com/5531262/hp-pavilion-dv6-the-first-touchscreen-pavilion-notebook
I'm not aware if Umbraco 7 is using a plugin for touch support on login screen, but with a plugin like touchSwipe http://labs.rampinteractive.co.uk/touchSwipe/demos/ you are able to simulate touch event with mouse drag even though the laptop doesn't support touch enabled screen.
We use angularJSs own ng-touch module, which does the touch registration for us, added a check to turn it off in case its not a touch device, and also only perform action if there is no text selected, which is usually the reason why this happens
