U4-3642 - no duplicate hostname error feedback

Created by Yannick Smits 21 Nov 2013, 16:58:01 Updated by Shannon Deminick 19 Oct 2015, 13:49:34

Relates to: U4-6797

When you have a second node you want to assign a hostname to that has the same value as that of the first node (which obviously doesn't work) you don't get any feedback from the UI. No error message.

As noted in this issue, suppose your site structure is this:

  • Home (assigned hostname: example.com) -- English --- About --- Contact

When you try to add the hostname "example.com" to the "English" node, the panel just refreshes when you click "Save" and there's no feedback. The hostname is also never added to "English".

Feedback should be that the hostname is already assigned to another node and should also have the path to that node (for example: "This hostname has already been assigned to: Home > English > Contact").

It looks like all validation & error messages have been somehow broken. Looking into it.

Cool, have tested and works, just make sure to create a PR on github for these branches so we can pull them in.
