U4-3644 - Multiple Textstring DataType not displaying in DocType (vs. 7.0.0 build 183)

Created by Janae Cram 21 Nov 2013, 17:39:47 Updated by Shannon Deminick 25 Nov 2013, 06:37:14

  1. Clicked Developer
  2. Right clicked DataTypes > Create
  3. Named DataType, selected Multiple Textbox from the dropdown, saved.
  4. Left Min/Max values as 0/0
  5. Clicked Settings
  6. Dropped open Document Types, selected my already created DocType
  7. Added the new DataType to it
  8. Clicked Content
  9. Went to the node with this DocType
  10. The field name shows, but there is no textbox to put content into; it's simply blank

This is a uComponents datatype, no? In Umbraco v7, datatypes that are not provided in the core will not work as they have been changed significantly and don't use usercontrols any more. This is a known breaking change made in v7.

Multiple Textstring has always been part of the Core as far as I'm aware (at least since I've been using Umbraco). I haven't installed uComponents (or any plugins) on the version I'm working on.

The Property editor alias is Umbraco.MultipleTextstring if that helps.

Okay, I'll try it tomorrow. I'm wondering now, maybe we adopted it from uComponents at some point and I never noticed.. ;)

I hope so, because it's one of my favorite DataTypes and I really want to be able to use it :) Thanks for checking it out!
