U4-3648 - v7, User without access to "Users" section can't change password

Created by Matt Brailsford 21 Nov 2013, 19:19:15 Updated by Jørgen Bakke Eriksen 01 Oct 2015, 10:50:19

Relates to: U4-4752

In v6 there used to be a dashboard control to change password, however there is no way in v7 to change your password if you don't have access to the Users section.

User should be able to change its own password.

Hrm, we had this dashboard but someone seems to have removed it for some reason.

as a workaround for now, i'm pretty sure you can add this dashboard back

<tab caption="Change Password">
  <control addPanel="true">
    views/dashboard/changepassword.html
  </control>

</tab>

Thanks Shannon worked a treat but could this be reintroduced in 7.0.2 even if just as a temporary measure?

Agree that there needs to be a default way for all users to change their own password in the admin backend without needing access to the Users section. Perhaps a link or module on the Profile tab in the top left?

I added the Change Password dashboard back in rev ac57ec22113bcfe3b614c915608542024e16676e
