U4-3783 - Can't Upgrade MySQL DB to 7.0.0

Created by Brian Powell 03 Dec 2013, 20:53:28 Updated by Martin Griffiths 10 Dec 2013, 10:10:08

Relates to: U4-3616

As it shipped, 7.0.0 cannot successfully upgrade an existing MySQL DB from 6.1.6 to 7.0.0.

The code that ships as part of 7.0.0 does not implement removing default values from fields and has issues with dropping primary keys. I've created a pull request that fixes these issues. I've tested it on MySQL 5.6.x where it works successfully.

Aside from the pull request, there may be some other issues with missing or misnamed keys and constraints that still have to be manually fixed before the migration will work.

I've submitted Pull Request 262 to fix this issue. https://github.com/umbraco/Umbraco-CMS/pull/262
