U4-4054 - Multinode Treepicker datatype - selecting a start node sends to content section

Created by Douglas Robar 14 Jan 2014, 19:35:33 Updated by Douglas Robar 16 Jan 2014, 10:24:32

7.0.2 nightly build (not sure if it is also in 7.0.1)

  1. Create a datatype which uses the Multinode Treepicker as the property editor.
  2. Click either the 'Choose' or the 'Or pick a node' link
  3. Rather than seeing a content picker in the sidebar you are thrown out of the Developer section entirely and the entire UI moves to the Content section

If it is important, there is a js error on the new datatype:

TypeError: Unable to get property 'id' of undefined or null reference at Anonymous function (http://training.7.0.2.local/umbraco/js/umbraco.controllers.js:2982:3) at d (http://training.7.0.2.local/umbraco/lib/angular/1.1.5/angular.min.js:28:295) at ...etc...etc...etc... in angual.min.js

I see there has been some work on this with the 7.0.2 nightly #238 (the xpath field has been removed). Clicking the 'Choose' link still refreshes the entire window and throws you out to the Content section, however.

Fixed in rev: c288734877d77c19450f320010540f0d07c5924e

pretty sure the whole cause of this was a missing null check which was throwing an exception after the slight refactor in this rev: 391c778b8000deaeceda06340c070031b05cb706
