U4-4111 - Media picker is not working when media item is deleted in media section

When a node has a media file selected with the media picker and if the file is deleted in the media section, it's impossible to select files with on the node with that media file deleted. I'm not sure if this problem also occures when multiple files are selected.

I've experienced this too. Cleaning up the media section, deleted several images - forgetting one of them was referenced on a content node (from a Media Picker). Now the Media Picker is empty/blank - and unable to select a new media item. (Umbraco v7.0.3)

Tested fix with both upload and cropper images, both should work now.

This was fixed indirectly as part of 2470ec3dedc1e6dcfb1e9dbc6140d63ec4b178d5

Close, but not entirely correct yet, now it just shows a broken image if the image has been deleted. Also, this is a bit more complicated I'd guess but if the image is in the recycle bin it still shows as one of the selected images. I think that should not be the case.

hmmm, yeah I'll add a check for trashed images now, and while testing this, I actually also think that the media is cached on the server, even after the media recycle bin is cleared, but didnt immediately notice due to rebuilds killing the cache, but probably a seperate issue and the trash check will fix as well

Check added, fixed the issue with trashed media items

Is this a fixed or closed issue? 7.1.0 still is a problem. media picker does not appear when the media item is trashed or deleted.

Hi duc, will have a look, it should be fixed in 7.1, but will make sure

Duc Tran 04 Apr 2014, 07:41:25

Get the real release here: http://our.umbraco.org/ReleaseDownload?id=115356
