U4-4515 - GenericProperty.ascx.cs references non-existent lblAlias control, causing YSOD of death when editing certain document types

Created by Andrew Swerlick 24 Mar 2014, 13:55:18 Updated by Sebastiaan Janssen 24 Mar 2014, 18:03:23

The GenericProperty.ascx.cs file references a non-existent Label named lblAlias. This Label is in the autogenerated GenericProperty.ascx.designer.cs file, but not in the actual GenericProperty.ascx markup. This causes a YSOD on some document types when viewing or editing the types in the backend. The issue can be resolved by removing all references to lblAlias.

I think you missed the references in the GenericProperty.ascx.cs file, ln 103, ln 144, and ln 157

No worries, happens to the best of us. When will this be available in the nuget package?

Sebastiaan Janssen 24 Mar 2014, 18:03:23

@Andrew.Swerlick It won't be on NuGet until the final release, you can add the MyGet nightly feed, which has the latest build including this change now: https://www.myget.org/F/umbraco7nightly/
