When the content area loads, it would be good to have the option to have the home node already expanded (perhaps a config true/false setting?). This would be really useful for instances where you have a single site within umbraco. It would mean 1 less click each time the user goes to the content area (at the moment you click 'content', then you click the expand arrow next to 'home'), and it would allow the user to instantly view the top level pages of a site. Just thought this could be useful from an editors point of view.

From enduser perspective This would be very good.

'Useful' is an understatement in my opinion. Now new users to Umbraco are searching their brains out for the section where they can edit page content. If not expand nodes, then at least show the black arrows so that users can guess they might be succesfull in finding the pages by clicking on the black arrows. Would be realy realy useful for making things easier. I've done an 'new-user-test' with 7 users new to Umbraco, and nobody could find the pages under the website node.

I've created a custom dashboard page for my clients to explain how to open the tree, but this is obviously a workaround. It would be much clearer to editors if the home node were expanded by default. Besides, it would "save clicks" (an Umbraco 7 concept goal) since most editors log in to, well, edit stuff in the tree.

So what if you have multiple root nodes? Only expand the first? Expand all?
