I just noticed that when hitting the "preview" button the preview window does not open up because of pop-up blockers.
I think that can be quite an issue since the blockers are default in any modern browser, which can lead to some frustrated editors that does perhaps not notice this and are left with an impression that the preview functionality is not working.
I tested in 7.1.3 - don't know if it's the same in earlier versions.
Could it perhaps just simpy open up in a new window rather than in a pop-up window?
I guess with "modern browsers" you mean: firefox. Works inn all my other modern browsers. But yeah, should be updated.
Well, if you have at some point said "Don't bother me with this again" then yes :)
I've seen my colleague get no preview-pop-up and no pop-up blocker warning at all on Safari / Max OSX version hipster and I had the issue myself in Chrome 34 on a windows box.
Just tested in IE11...works fine. No pop-up blocking and the preview opens in a new window like it's done forever in earlier versions though...
Will try to see if I can investigate this further during the weekend and report back to you.
In 7.1.3, this happens to me in Chrome (v35.0) on win7. See screengrab.
Fixed with PR https://github.com/umbraco/Umbraco-CMS/pull/405
In 7.1.6 with Chrome on Win7 this still happens. Am I the only one or is this not fixed and either needs to be re-opened or a new bug filed?
I'm also getting a blocked preview in Chrome/Win 7 with 7.1.6. A colleague the other day was experiencing the same thing with Firefox and Safari on a Mac.
I'm seeing the same. Should we reopen?
