U4-4999 - Image cropper - Image file duplicated each time the page (content) is saved/published

Created by Alain 27 May 2014, 12:21:47 Updated by Shannon Deminick 28 May 2014, 02:27:58

When a document type contains an image cropper data type, each time an editor saves/publishes the content, a new copy of the image is saved in the media folder. This copy should be created only when the image is different. For instance, if we create a new blog post with a 1Mb image, each time we make a change and save/publish, a new 1Mb image will be added to the media folder. If we modify and save 20 times this blog post, that means 20Mb of disk space used.
