I have set some content to Publish and Unpublish on a certain date/time. I can see in the backend that the content has unpublished, but it is still appearing on the site i.e. the unpublish has not removed the content from the cache.
The only way to fix this is to update the cache using "republish entire site".
The ability to publish and unpublish content at a given time is important for my client, so would be great to see this fixed ASAP.
I can't reproduce this issue on a clean 7.1.4 install, so there seems to be something else going on. Please update if you have more details on this!
I have a similar issue in Umbraco 7.1.8
I unpublish a page and then reload it 50 times in browser, it will show up 20 times, and give a 404 error 30 times. recycling the website does not affect this.
in screenshots you see two browsers openening the same url at the same time, one loads, other gives 404. Page was not published at this time.
NOTE: i'm not using "Publish at", but manually publishing & unpublishing, and even then i don't get the desired result consitently
