U4-5207 - User Type with a space in the name breaks User Content

Created by Robert Foster 10 Jul 2014, 04:16:43 Updated by Shannon Deminick 16 Jul 2014, 04:07:52

We created a User Type named "Document Administrators" and when we set a specific Content Node for a user associated with this new User Type the Content Tree is empty.

Part of the problem here is I suspect more to do with the fact that the alias for the User Type is not being validated and is always the same as the actual name, contrary to everywhere else in Umbraco where we're creating an object alias.

I've confirmed this by creating another User Type without the space "DocumentAdministrator" and assigned the same user to the new type, and the Content Tree showed the expected branch.

The Media tree is not affected by this problem.

This is fixed now - we ensure the alias is formatted the same way that a content type's alias is formatted which ensures no spaces.
