We have a content tree that is only about 3 or 4 levels deep but as some of the pages have long names - and some very similar the page name is cut off after a few characters and you cant make out the page name.

Is there a way to make the content tree hz scroll or anything else that would alleviate this?

I would like to add my vote for this to be fixed, although I would call this a usability problem rather than a bug. It is quite a problem in the site I'm working on, and has no work around that I can see.

I'd suggest this could be solved by either: 1. Providing a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the tree pane that allows you to move the tree left and right, or 2. Allowing you to drag the splitter between the tree pane and the content pane left and right to show or hide more of the tree (as in Windows Explorer 7).

My preference is for option 2 because I think it fits better with the V7 interface and matches the Windows experience. I'd like my chosen width to be remembered between navigations and between sessions, and to be the same in all areas (Content, Media, Settings etc.).

Another, simpler suggestion that would work in some situations is for the full page name to be shown in a popup "tooltip" or similar when the user hovers over the truncated title.

This was also raised in the "popular" issue U4-229 although that one is mainly about drag and drop in the tree.

In Umbraco 7.3.0 beta2 then bottom bar (inkl. the buttons) are not adjusted when changing the width of content tree using the dragable splitter.

Furthermore the Umbraco Forms section looks a bit weird after changing the width of the content tree and browsing the forms section. I have to refresh the page here to make it looks "normal" (without the whitespace to the left).

thanks for the feedback, keep it coming, this is still a work in progress.

Shannon - The splitter gets "stuck" to my mouse after I click, drag, release.
If I then move my mouse over the splitter again, it continues to move with my mouse - clicking does nothing at this point, eventually it "unsticks"

Also, the horizontal scrollbar for the editor (template for example) you cannot get to it without vertically scrolling to the bottom for long / wide code. Check out the Master template in 7.3.0-beta2 as an example. Not sure if I should open a separate issue for this or not..

Yup I know, it's only when you drag left and need to click again to stop it, it's on my list.
