Would be really useful, especially for re-organizing media items ... lost count on how many sites I've seen with messy media sections.

@kenneth This is now implemented for 7.2.0, have a look at the related issues to this one :)

@sebastiaan ah, ok - awesome!

Is is possible to do all the "right click things" of a listview node? For example permissions, change document type, culture and hostnames, etc.

Sebastiaan Janssen 09 Dec 2014, 10:10:00

That's what the top-right "Actions" button is for.

Shannon Deminick 09 Dec 2014, 10:38:03

I think he means he wants to be able to do bulk operations on any of the selected items. The top right actions is only for the current node.

The reality of bulk operations is that we need to be mindful of how they work. Some of the APIs are awful with regards to performance and definitely don't operate in a single transaction. This can both cause big performance penalties and also strange concurrency issues. If we are going to support bulk operations, it needs to be done right.

This includes the ability to copy/move items, we cannot 'just' reuse a menu structure.

Sebastiaan Janssen 09 Dec 2014, 11:16:17

Okay, I assumed it was the normal right-click operations on single node as you'd never want to bulk update nodes to have the same hostname :P

So currently (7.2.0) you can't move items to any node with a parent that is in list view mode. This seems to be because the move destination picker is using the default tree so you can only navigate to the root of list nodes.

Is it possible (for moving a single node) to use the same picker for the move destination tree that is used for the link to node picker?

Is this a use case that Will that be addressed in this issue or should it be separate?

This issue was planned to be done in the v7.3 release but it seems to be removed? Is there a package that allows you to move/copy all selected items in a list view?

Has there been any further thought on bulk operations in ListView, it would be amazing if you could bulk change doctype and bulk change template.

Any luck for implementing this in version 7.30?

Nora Kuhn 22 Sep 2015, 08:15:28

This would be a major improvement.

esunxray 15 Oct 2015, 11:31:27

When will this be added?

Marcin Zajkowski 16 Oct 2015, 09:38:14

Hmm I was almost sure that I saw this change included in new changelog, but after update to v.7.3.0 this is still not here. Is this scheduled for someday or we need to go deeper by ourself (we're planning to, as it is a main feature needed in our current project :)). Thanks in advance for any info about it.

Shannon Deminick 16 Oct 2015, 09:40:19

It's not scheduled right now, we will review this task at our next sprint meeting.
