Open Umbraco 7, Content section, hover a page and click ellipsis next to a page. This action connected to the ellipsis provides a dialog with a list of document types which can be used to create pages.
The ellipsis sign provides a clue that there are more possibly actions available, even though the ellipsis only provides access to 1 action: create a new page.
Right-clicking the same page, opens a menu with many different actions that can be performed on the page (Delete, move, copy, and create). In this dialog, the same create action uses a + (plus) sign as an icon.
So we have 2 actions that are basically the same, accessed from a different area, but have 2 different icons.
Change the ellipsis into a + (plus) sign for better consistency. After all, clicking the ellipsis does give the editor the create dialog.
Great idea! A plus sign makes much more sense.

What about having both a plus (for most used action), and an ellipsis (or other) for contextual actions. It's not easy to do a right click on a touch device.
