When I watched a user log in I noticed that they're shown the "change password" dashboard page. This causes many users to conclude that they need to change their password.
Seeing the "change password" page when a non-admin user log in is confusion. It would be much better to show them a page with some introduction about Umbraco and how to edit pages etc.
+1. Change password shouldn't be a dashboard, it just doesn't make any sense. It should be placed on the user profile flyout (the one you get when you click the profile picture). The current design is extremely counter-intuitive. It is especially annoying because you ''can't'' remove the dashboard. Users have to be able to change their password - and that is the only way to do it currently.
I'm looking into doing a pull request to implement the above.
I have made a pull request that moves the Change password feature to the user flyout: https://github.com/umbraco/Umbraco-CMS/pull/640. This is definitely an improvement, though it could use further work. That being said, I think the Change password dashboard just needs to go away.
I have updated the PR to 7.3 (no big changes, just a couple of merge issues). The only known issue currently is that the notification that the password has changed is shown ''behind'' the user flyout. Ideally, I'd want to intercept that notification and show it in the user flyout instead, but I'm not sure where to do that best. Any thoughts?
