U4-572 - JavaScript editor becomes unresponsive when pasting large amounts of code

Created by Sebastiaan Janssen 19 Aug 2012, 14:54:14 Updated by Shannon Deminick 21 Jun 2017, 07:52:13

The built-in script editor in the Settings section is unable to handle large JavaScript files. When pasting jQuery uncompressed (http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.7.2.js) the editor becomes very unresposive: thirty seconds of 100% CPU to handle a single keystroke.

It is much more responsive when only opening large files (as opposed to pasting the code).

For people working with Visual Studio and build scripts this is not a problem, as it's unlikely you would ever paste.

However for a new user from say a front-end background, this would be an issue.
