U4-5721 - If grid has only one layout, switch straight to row edit interface

Created by Matt Brailsford 30 Oct 2014, 15:10:38 Updated by Per Ploug 04 Aug 2015, 11:27:44

If a grid data type only has 1 layout associated with, auto select this in the editor and start from the "add row layout" interface.

Great to see that this will be addressed in 7.3.0.

Adding a control to an area has a similar problem if there is only one control type (editor) allowed. Generally we create rows for each specific purpose so that each area in the row only can hold a certain type, so if the extra click could be avoided here as well, it would be very much appreciated.

@abjerner - good point - will have a look at this at the same time

@pploug Awesome.

We had a small Twitter discussion about the grid last night: https://twitter.com/esn303/status/628287828435300352

Another problem is as Marc mentions that the cog icon is shown even though there are no settings / styles to apply.

fixed the cog icon issue as well - changes have been pushed
