U4-5828 - Node losing it's template after build

Created by Rigobert Mihle 17 Nov 2014, 19:45:13 Updated by Shannon Deminick 26 Jun 2017, 06:40:03

Umbraco 7.1.8, VS 2012, SQLExpress 2008, Firefox 33.1 or Chrome 38.0

After doing a build, one specific content node loses the template when being displayed and hitting F5 ( http://localhost:63129/contact/ ).

Error message is "Page not found. No template exists to render the document at url '/contact/' ..."

This only happens when refreshing this specific page with document type "contact".

It does not happen when:

  • refreshing another page first, then refreshing the affected page
  • doing a "Save and publish" of the page first, than hitting F5
  • calling the page by id ( http://localhost:63129/1101 )
  • adding a page with same document type / template one level below ( http://localhost:63129/forum/contact/ ), doing a build and than hitting F5
  • Hitting F5 after the page has been renamed and displayed (for example from "contact" to "contact us" or "contact form"). When undoing the rename the same error is thrown (I am quite sure that it is not a caching issue, because I deleted the browser cache, shut down the browser, IISExpress and VS, deleted umbraco.config and started again before renaming the page to "contact" again.)
  • displaying another page in the backend after build, then hitting F5 on the affected page

SQL-DB is version 2008, installed with Nuget, both Properties in Layout.cshtml are of type "Tag".
