An image that is uploaded via Media Picker is automatically assigned the media type "Image". So far so good. But what if the Media target folder does not allow the "Image" type? Well the image is given the "Image" type anyway, and is placed in the specified Media folder regardless this is prohibited! This means you cannot provide your editors with a readily accessible file upload (Media Picker) and at the same time have different custom fields and/or crop alternatives for the site images. A rather large obstacle in my opinion, at least for big sites with many and different types of images.
I confirm the issue also on v7.3.4 and 7.4.0 Is a big problem for us, we are still using U6 instead of U7 because of this.
Can anyone confirm if this resolves this issue? http://issues.umbraco.org/issue/U4-4196
@Shandem Tested in 7.6.0 where the issue is fixed
