U4-868 - Suggestion: Make it possible to omit the .aspx extension in the applicationUrl attribute in the help section of umbracoSettings.config

Created by Jan Skovgaard 16 Sep 2012, 17:45:44 Updated by Shannon Deminick 26 Jun 2017, 06:40:03

When using the section in the umbracoSettings.config file it would be nice if one could simply enter the name of the applicationUrl without the .aspx extension.

If the parameter is being used to generate a help url then the path will look something like this: http://www.site.com/content/dashboard.aspx/en/administrators

Even though the url is valid I don't think it makes any sense to have the .aspx extension in it in this context.

Refer to this issue: http://issues.umbraco.org/issue/U4-4075

It's an issue for umb 4 and 6. For Umb 7, we have removed the whole section as it's not being used.
